Portrait

What's the difference between a portrait and a headshot or a family session?

In short, portraits are more expressive and more "artsy." If you will, a portrait is a nuanced story-teller. Where a headshot seeks to showcase who you are who people will want to work with you, the purpose of a portrait is to showcase who you are - the essence of your spirit - and it generally incudes the setting in the story behind the final photo.

FAQ

Can I change outfits for shoots?

Only my regular and full portrait session include time to change clothes. One change for the regular and two for the full. With kids, I know from experience that clothing changes take a very long time. :) But the portrait is of a kiddo this is still the same.

How many people can I have at the shoot?

Portraits are just catered to one person. If you'd like someone else to tag along on the shoot or walk that's totally fine.

Do I get to choose the locations?

Yep! We can meet and shoot anywhere you'd like in the greater Puget Sound area. (Ferry fee will be tacked onto your invoice). Over to North Bend, up top Whidbey Island, down to Olympia and out to Port Angeles-ish.

Do you charge a travel fee?

Not inside the greater Puget Sound area. For locations anywhere outside King, Pierce, Thurston or Kitsap counties I'll charge a travel fee of $25 to cover gas, ferry and time. Also I live on an island so ferry fee will always be tacked onto your invoice.

How long will it take to get my photos?

I usually say allow for around a month for the entire process, start to finish (from shutter click to you having your pictures to share and cherish and print). Sometimes I work faster and sometimes, if I have many shoots I'm working on, it can go a bit slower. I know what it's like to wait for photos, so I work as fast as I can!

Will you share my photos?

Yes. One way I get new clients is by showing photos from previous shoots. This is made very clear in my contract. If you are adamant about your photos not being on social media or ads, we can talk about a small extra fee.
